Field Person & Promotional Booth

Chuck Groeneveld, Field person for the ASA, reports that the new concept for the promotional booth has been well received since its inception at Farmfair last November. The booth is changed for each event to better appeal to that particular event's audience. The decision to rethink the original purpose of the booth was made by the ASA Board at last Septembers Board meeting. At that time, the Board determined that it could no longer afford to carry the necessary inventory ( e.g. clothing) and that your money would be better spent promoting our product: the Simmental breed. It is my opinion that Chuck has been a great addition to our team and I have received many encouraging comments. It is also my belief that Chuck's presence in the booth at Farmfair was responsible for yielding the ASA two contacts with associates from Mexico wishing to purchase bulls in Alberta. The next event that the ASA booth will be featured at is the Calgary Stampede.

Alberta Young Canadian Simmental Report

As the summer approaches, the AYCSA is busy planning our 26th Annual Wild Rose Classic. The show will be taking place July 19-22nd in Olds, AB. This year promises to be as big and exciting as ever with new competitions, clinics, and fun events. We encourage all YCS members, 4-H members, and young cattle enthusiasts to come join in on the fun. Registration forms will soon be available on the CSA website, and also as a mail out to all YCS members. We would love to see all ASA and Simmental breeders out at our event. The support that we received from our fellow breeders is greatly appreciated. Without you, there would not be the strong Simmental youth that there is today. Hope everyone has a great spring, and we all look forward to seeing everyone this summer out and about.
